F.P. Journe began as the vision of François-Paul Journe, who had previously restored antique clocks and watches before launching his own brand in Geneva. The brand quickly gained acclaim for its inventive complications, such as the Chronomètre à Résonance (the first wristwatch to use resonance for improved accuracy), the Tourbillon Souverain (the first tourbillon wristwatch with a remontoir d'égalité), and the Octa collection (featuring the first automatic movement with a 120-hour power reserve).
